Chapter 98 The Moribund Matt

Matt’s balance came from the mutation caused by the mysterious radioactive substances while Bullseye’s balance came from his innate talent.

If just relied on training, it was out of the question for Leo to achieve this balance in his lifetime.

Standing on the ground, Leo saw Matt, who was on the rooftop, lowering his head without taking any action.

It was apparent what the reasons were.

Either it was Matt’s personality or an occupational habit from being a lawyer.

Every time before taking any action, Matt preferred to have a chat with his enemy, getting to the bottom of things to determine the rights and wrongs of his enemy.

To prevent Matt from screwing up due to being talkative, Leo headed towards the rooftop while uttering, “Matt, that guy is Bullseye.

He just infiltrated El Building and I lost track of him just now.

He’s an enemy and a dangerous one at that.

Stop chattering with him, subdue or eliminate him.”

Leo spoke as if having a normal conversation.

Bullseye, who was dozens of meters away from him, certainly was unable to hear what Leo was saying, but Matt’s ear slightly wiggled, clearly hearing Leo’s words.

Furthermore, the noises of footsteps reverberated in his ear.

It was Leo running along the streets, heading to the rooftop to provide support.

According to Mr.

Erwin, Bullseye had secretly snuck into El Building which meant he was an enemy without a doubt.

Glancing at the half-kneeling Bullseye, Matt suddenly strode forward.

He flicked the blind stick in his hand and revealed a row of sharp serrated teeth on its tip.

The blind stick instantly transformed into a deadly weapon, stabbing straight at Bullseye.

Although Bullseye was recovering his stamina, he never let down his guard even once.

The moment Matt attacked, he immediately jumped back to avoid the stick.

However, he wasn’t Matt’s match for a moment ago, and naturally, he wasn’t one even now.

Along with Matt’s continuous strike, trails of bloody wounds gradually formed on Bullseye’s body.

Bullseye was getting more and more anxious, seeing that he was unable to break the stalemate, and eventually lose his composure.

Seizing the opening, Matt ruthlessly whipped his leg at Bullseye.

Simultaneously, Matt quickly chased after Bullseye, preparing to thrust right at Bullseye’s throat with the stick, ending his sinful life.

Crazily moving backward, Bullseye wished he had the energy to balance his body and dreamt of dodging Matt’s thrust!

With the wounds accumulated on his body, Bullseye’s movement was visibly affected as he could only stare at Matt getting closer to him.

It was as though a grim reaper was waving its scythe at him!

In the face of desperation, the frantically retreating Bullseye suddenly crashed onto the water tank with his head and back.

There wasn’t much water in the tank, so an ear-splitting booming noise was released by the water tank!

Bullseye believed his end was arriving but several seconds later, he didn’t sense the anticipated sharp pain in his throat.

Shaking his head, Bullseye stared at Matt in puzzlement only to find out Matt was standing a couple of meters in front of him, grabbing the head in pain.

A golden opportunity! Bullseye pulled the last steel spike from his belt and tossed it at Matt’s head.

But the aftereffects of his concussion remained, he realized the steel spike deviated.

Although it had deviated, the spike was aimed at Matt’s heart instead.

He was delighted, it was as if God was siding with him!

Matt sensed the steel spike piercing over but the loud noise caused his senses to malfunction, thus unable to determine the steel spike’s direction.

Subconsciously, he used the technique Bucky had imparted to him.

Leaning to his right side, Matt was able to minimize the damage while protecting his heart.

Bucky’s training managed to save Matt’s hide.

The steel spike missed the heart and pierced his right shoulder instead.

Feeling the excruciating pain and fearing Bullseye launching a sneak attack, Matt hastily retreated several meters, pulling away his distance from Bullseye.

Meanwhile, he took several deep breaths before recovering his condition and keen senses.

Nevertheless, Matt’s injured right shoulder weakened his combat capability.

Facing Bullseye, it was difficult for him to have the upper hand again! Thus, he grabbed the blind stick with his left hand and posed a defensive stance, preparing to engage.

Bullseye, who was next to the water tank, looked at Matt before looking at the water tank again and an idea emerged in his brain.

Abruptly kicking the water tank, a booming noise echoed again.

But this time Bullseye wasn’t sticking his head onto the water tank, so he was fine.

It was Matt in the distance clenching his head in pain again.

After unearthing Matt’s weakness, he began consecutively pounding the water tank like a drum, releasing a series of booming noises.

Struck by the series of booming noises, Matt’s brain fell into a blank as his special vision was jumbled up, utterly failing to differentiate the directions.

As a last resort, he began flailing his blink stick in a flurry, showing off his Mad Stick Art.

This caused Bullseye unable to get close!

Unexpectedly, the Mad Stick Art was effective.

Despite having no hidden weapons on his body, Bullseye had an evil grin while preparing to finish Matt off in close combat.

But Matt’s messy flailing act actually halted his approach!

Rewinding a couple of minutes earlier.

Leo speedily arrived at the apartment where Matt and Bullseye were engaging on its rooftop but it turned out the entrance of the apartment was locked.

But how could a simple door hinder Leo in his Lightweight Power Suit With a rip, the door was split in half.

Rushing into the apartment, Leo headed to the rooftop through the staircases.

Just as he reached the halfway mark, a loud metal clunking noise reverberated from the rooftop.

Leo muttered in his heart, “Oh no, Matt is in trouble!”

The next moment, the clanging noise began booming like a drum.

Leo increased his footsteps.

Propping himself on the stair railing, Leo scaled up the building by stepping on the railings, leaving dents on them.

When Leo finally arrived at the topmost floor, the clanging noises he heard had just ended.

Under the series of clanging noises, Leo suspected Matt might have no power to retaliate anymore, and in the worst-case scenario, he might have lost his life! Without any hesitations, Leo bounced from his spot with his fists aiming at the rooftop, immediately penetrating through it.

Stacks of bricks blasted away as Leo finally reached the rooftop.

At the moment, Bullseye had yet to circumvent Matt’s self-defending Mad Stick Art but the evil grin on his face remained there.

The moment he saw Leo pop out of the ground from afar like a mole, the grin on his face froze and twisted.

Failing to finish Matt off, Bullseye endured the pains and immediately switched on his parkour mode.

Leo couldn’t catch up with Bullseye but could catch with Matt who was still flailing his stick all over the place.

So, he could only watch Bullseye run further and further away, soon becoming a vanishing figure.

“Matt, he’s gone.

It’s fine, you can stop now!”

Hoo! Hoo! Hah! Hah!

“Matt”

On the rooftop, Matt was still crazily flailing his stick, unable to hear Leo’s voice.

His senses were severely weakened but he was still moving while flailing his stick.

Soon enough, he was about to fall off the rooftop.

Helplessly, Leo blocked the frenzied stick with his left arm while snatching the deformed stick away from Matt with his right hand.

Then, Leo held down the frantically struggling Matt, waiting for his senses to recover.

Five minutes later, Matt finally recovered and understood Leo had saved him.

He immediately thanked Leo, “Mr.

Erwin, thank you for saving me.

I’ve been too careless, allowing Bullseye to accidentally discover my weakness.” Matt was distressed and afraid.

“This weakness of yours is too fatal.

As long as the enemy knows your weakness, even an ordinary person with a gun can kill you.” Leo was worried too, “We must find a way to compensate for your weakness, or else you’ll be too powerless!”

“Almost a decade and I fail to come up with anything good.

It’s not easy for it to be solved!” Matt was helpless.

Despite his extraordinary senses giving him superpowers, they also brought him a fatal weakness.

“But Teacher Bucky has begun training me to overcome this weakness.

Me flailing my stick that you saw just now is the result of training.

If it was before, I would be overwhelmed when facing today’s situation.

I might even have a headache to the point of being unable to stand still.”

The Mad Stick Art wasn’t the only thing Bucky taught Matt, Bucky also imparted countless pieces of knowledge to him.

For example, when engaging with Bullseye today, leaning sideways was one of the life-saving techniques he learned from Bucky.

Speaking of the devil, Bucky, who rarely had a rest at the house, received the news.

When Leo was holding Matt down to the ground floor, Bucky finally arrived with the car.

After confirming the steel spike on Matt’s right shoulder was poisonous, Bucky opened the car door, letting the duo enter before driving back to his house.

This small injury wasn’t an issue for Bucky to take care of.

There wasn’t any need for Matt to go to the hospital.

In the car, Leo slowly explained everything he knew to Bucky.

The more Bucky heard, the more livid his face turned.

Not only was Bullseye going to steal something, but he also almost killed his student.

Although Bullseye had long escaped, Leo mentioned he probably was sent by Kingpin.

Therefore, Bucky asked in discontent, “Leo, aren’t you going to tell us who Kingpin is We can’t let them ride and s*it on our necks like this!”
